Note: a fine example of the under-appreciated value of aftertaste; great lasting character.

A good year for Da Yu Ling winter harvest should not get an 89 score. I tried Tea From Taiwan.com and http://www.TaiwanTeaShop.com. Both were really good & while the Taiwan Tea Shop was the best so far, I will order this one and see for myself if the price reflects the quality.

Great to hear your voice Lawrence,

I respect your opinion and would say it depends on how characteristics rank within the overall evaluation. My appreciation for aftertaste has grown significantly over the years, but can a tea offer excellent aftertaste (like yours does) while still delivering stronger flavor/aroma at an earlier stage? This is my dilemma- chasing the yum and sophistication throughout the tasting experience.

Great review, Jason.

I would like to entertain a different perspective: if this tea is more esteemed to the Chinese or Taiwanese palate, then it should receive higher regards than those catering more to American. The logic is the same as how one would judge Chinese food, such that a true connoisseur would not regard sweet and sour pork as haute cuisine.

As tea lovers search for an authentic tea experience, it is important that we respect the heritage of true fine tea characteristics.
