Overall, teas reviewed this year fared quite well. This was partly due to teas I personally purchased and sought to highlight, but also because of excellent cooperation with tea purveyors who submitted reviews. Because of them, we all have some goodies to talk about.
I’d like to believe the chaff is separating from the wheat. That companies who believe their teas will score poorly are moving on, and that boutique tea companies are choosing to highlight their stronger performers on Walker Tea Review.
The tea keeps coming in. I have already scheduled tea reviews through the first few months of 2013. This means there should be plenty to look forward to in the next year.
The best teas of 2012 are the highest scoring. I choose 3 from each of the black, green, and wulong categories. When there were 3 or more teas receiving the same high score, I opted for those that tugged a little more strongly at my heartstrings and sense of savor.
