The room was packed to capacity when Sean O’Leary came to NYC’s Whole Foods Bowery Culinary Center to present Tea 102: A Taste of Origin.
Participants did more than taste Rishi teas (and taste we did), we discovered that tea is about LEARNING.
We learned about the origins of Rishi’s organic teas- the ancient growth trees to the more modern tea gardens:
Tea infuses one life with another. Rishi’s involvement with Fair Trade Organizations means that the children of tea villages also get to learn- through education. As a former teacher in China (Shanghai, Wuhan, and Jingzhou), I was glad to see how my tea purchase translated into investment for Chinese students.
That day we all walked away with a greater understanding of tea as an investment- an investment in taste, health, and the lives of others.
