Hi Jason,
I browsed my collection of tea tonight to find one you may have already reviewed, and I came across this Wuyi from Adagio. I did my own tasting and took some notes before I re-watched your review, with cool results. Check it out:
Dry leaf notes: twisted leaves, mostly dark brown/ash with occasional rust. aromas include dry roasted peanuts, roasted sesame, hint of caramel sweetness
Wet leaf notes: didn’t open up quite as much as I expected after 5 mins, though they opened up more on the 2nd steep. Similar aromas as dry leaf
Liquor notes: same aromas as dry leaf, but the caramel sweetness is stronger now than the roasted notes. A medium body travels from roasted notes to sweet finish of honey and caramel.
Just ordered the WTR set from Harney, looking forward to doing similar experiments with those teas!
Best,
Jeff
Jeff- great collection of notes. that record of your experience will pay dividends when choosing and appreciating future teas.
